  1. Hmmm this does seem strange, I thought that Columbia did interviews before they accept people but I haven't seen anything about interviews at all.
  2. I heard back from UWisconsin last week, and Michigan a couple of weeks ago. Nothing from Columbia though :-/ UWashington anyone? I've been seeing rejections and interviews trickle in all day, but haven't heard anything myself...
  3. Well there's a lone U of Washington Bioengineering interview posted in the results section... all's still quiet in my inbox from them though :-/ anyone else heard anything?
  4. To everyone waiting to hear from Berkeley BioE, another user posted this in 'Who all are waiting for BME decisions?': I got a reply from Berkeley Bioengineering Program. She looks like a coordinator or something. ------------------ Good Morning, We are in the process of sending invites this week--we are waiting on a last-minute administrative detail before we notify. Please do not be concerned, nothing has been sent to students since final decisions were made late last week. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions, thank you! Kristin ------------------ So I guess invitations will arrive very shortly.
  5. Thanks for sharing this!! Now please excuse me while I go stare anxiously at my inbox for the next 3 days...
  6. I think a lot of e-mails will be coming out in the next couple of weeks based on when interview invites were sent last year... I'm anxious to hear too!
  7. I've had a couple of profs from UW-Madison e-mail me about their research, and each of them said 'the admissions committee will be meeting soon to make decisions about applications.'
  8. Hahaha to preserve my sanity I've just convinced myself that person is either trolling or meant to respond 'rejected,' because otherwise I would be pretty angry about that
  9. you're right, I'm not international, it just seems like they would at least start looking at domestic applications soon too if they haven't already
  10. SECONDED. And these early Washington rejections have me antsy as well. I guess there are still about 5 hours left before their offices close today though....
  11. As a second semester senior in undergrad applying to PhD programs I get this one a lot: someone: ugh, school is the worst. I'm so excited to graduate and make lots of money! me: ...yeah... someone: oh right, I forgot you're applying to grad school... *awkward* The over-confidence of other people is also really aggravating. I was SO excited when I got my first interview invite the other day, and all my family could say about it was along the lines of "we're not even surprised, why were you so worried?" A little enthusiasm would be nice!
  12. I was pretty clear about them, but both of the profs who contacted me didn't line up exactly with what I mentioned in my SOP
  13. I've had a couple of phone calls from Duke professors as well. One of them wanted to talk to me specifically about his research and if I would be interested in it, and the other was a more general call about my interests (that call was Jan 9th, and the prof told me that the admissions committee would be getting together soon to send out invites). Based on the admission results from last year, Berkeley may come out late this week, but the other ones will likely be the last week in January or even early February. I definitely wish they would tell us sooner, I'm pretty anxious to hear back!
  14. Did y'all know that Duke admits BME PhD students directly to specific labs? I applied this cycle and am feeling pretty stupid for only finding that out today during a talk with a professor...
