Adip Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Hello, I am a mechanical engineer and I submitted a paper to a national journal in December 2011. The topic of this paper is not what I intend to pursue at grad school - the paper is related more to engineering cost estimation and my specialization at grad school would be thermal science. Till now status of my paper is under review. In such case, should I mention this submitted paper in my SOP or CV? If I should then how to mention it (under review or what title)? I am confused. Please help me.
rising_star Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 You should list in on your CV under "Publications". You put the full citation information and then note that it is "under review".
tip3r Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I think you should only include it in your resume. However, assuming you worked with a professor on the paper who is willing to write you a recommendation letter, I would ask him if he would mention the paper in his recommendation (although he probably would even if you didn't ask).
