Virago Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 So I'm seriously considering applying to Hunter for next fall, and so far I like what I've found out about this school. I'm looking to focus on Renaissance/Baroque and they have two great professors whose specialization is exactly that. It has a great location (upper East side), it's right next to Central Park and about a mile and a half away from Museum Mile. I've been searching around the forums but can't find much pertaining to this school, I've heard mostly good things, but I want to hear what you guys have to say, what good/bad things have you heard?
juliette22 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Hi! I did my first year of masters in art history at Hunter (I was in an exchange program from France). I only took classes in modern/contemporary but I have met some professor in Renaissance/Baroque and only heard good things about them, and any teacher at Hunter actually. The program is very rich and offers a lot of possibilities. The fact that a lot of classes are mixed MA/MFAs is also very nice and leads to very interesting classes. The location is obviously great, the building is fine and they were still working on renewing the library this summer. If you have specific questions, I'll be glad to answer lxs, asdf123 and spursel 2 1

juliette22 Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Well they have three galleries and students have the possibilty of getting involved in the curating of exhibitions. Teachers will also help you a lot, I got an internship through one of mine. Most proffessors have relations and are glad to help you when they can. I don't know if there is anything official about it though, but I would not be surprised if they have official partnerships.
tessthackara Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I applied to the MA Art History program at Hunter for fall 2013. Does anyone know how many candidates apply per year, and how many students they accept? Thanks!
