kiki123 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 When applying to graduate schools for MSW programs, what makes a strong personal/professional statement? What makes a weak one?
citychild Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I cannot speak for certain--everyone has different personality traits to highlight. I would say one that is customized for you as an individual. One that highlights specific skills you have, specific things you have done. Of course, it goes without saying, it must be a positive reference.
michigan girl Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 The personal statement is, in essence, a brief autobiographical narrative that explains how your experiences have shaped your life and influence you to apply to the specific degree program. The academic statement of purpose is where you explain why you are applying to the specific degree program and what aspects of the specific degree program fits your personal and professional goals.
