golonghorns Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 How many schools have given you recommended reading lists for your govt affairs program? Anyone willing to share some of the titles?
therunaround Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 This isn't a school reading list but it has served me well so far. Check out the State Dept reading list. http://careers.state.gov/resources/reading.html It's very international focused, which may or may not be a good thing for your interests, but I am more domestic focused and still found it excellent.
policy_applicant Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 That's a pretty good list, therunaround. I'll have to check out some of those titles. In addition, once I decide where I'm going, I'm planning to read some of the books/articles written by professors I'm interested in at the school. That should take up a little time.
therunaround Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Nice idea. Good to know your profs' work. If you have the time (it's 600+ words), read Steve Coll's book Ghost Wars. It's about the CIA, State, and White House's operations and policies in Afghanistan from the 70s to 9/11.
