Capital A for Anthropology in SoP?

Hi all,

I'm finishing off my first application, and wondering whether anthropology should be written with a capital A in the statement? When it's "Department of Anthropology" I have capitalized it, but otherwise I have not. On different departments' websites it seems there is a mix. Anyone know the accepted wisdom?

I did the same thing as you: in department names it is capitalized, otherwise it is not.
