How much can you divulge in describing your research about currently unpublished work?

Be careful. Not to be overly negative but you also don't want to implant some of your valuable ideas into someone else's head. You could instead describe the nature of the work you're doing, techniques you're using, etc. without going too much into what it's all about.

Are you or your PI worried about being scooped? Have them check your SOP to make sure you don't divulge any ~secrets~ My PI is paranoid as fuck and he didn't care. There shouldn't enough detail that they could really steal anything unless your findings are earth shattering, yet easily reproducible, I guess.
