paintbucket Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Hi everyone, This is my first post here in this forum, so here we go. I'm a final year Politics and History student at Oxford and I'm hoping to get my PhD in the USA. I would like to specialise in the Late Antiquity period; Ancient Rome really fascinates me. I've got a great GRE verbal and writing score, a decent maths score, and will have two languages - French and Latin - under my belt by the time my applications are finalised. The problem is that it seems to be quite difficult to find programs that cater to this particular area. I've got four schools so far that I'm definitely applying to - Cornell, Yale, CUNY Graduate Center, and University of Virginia. May apply to University of North Carolina - still unsure. So basically, does anybody have any recommendations or suggestions for schools that have a good program for Ancient Rome/Late Antiquity on the East coast? I'd like to get a few more non-Ivies. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks.
CageFree Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 You said non-Ivy but I'd consider UPenn. I would also look at the University of Michigan (though that's not really East Coast).
