Hi All,

I am currently pursuing my Masters (by research) at Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. I recently took GRE subject test in computer science and got 770 (71 percentile). I am not sure how good or how bad is it? My profile is ok ( 6.7 / 8.0 and a research paper (IEEE) and expecting one more), Do I have chances in top universities (stanford / UCB / MIT ), I haven't taken general test till now.

I recommend you retake the GRE and try to get a score in 90th percentile. It's a good score but it's not great. I think you have a shot but these schools are competitive, so apply to some lesser ranked programs as well to be safe. Good Luck!

I read somewhere that the GRE CS Subject test is being scrapped. Does it still make sense to take it ? Also, I dont believe the subject test is a requirement for many of the above listed institutes.
