belf.ka Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Just re-read an application and realized that I wrote (in reference to a research center affiliated with the department) "Universal Center for..." rather than "University Center for...." Should I be worried? Would I draw too much attention to it if I contacted them?
GopherGrad Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Seems pretty marginal to me. Not that we should fail to proofread our essays, but I doubt anyone considers themselves infallible in this regard and I find it hard to believe that judgment will rain down to harshly over this. If it really bothers you, contact the admissions coordinator and ask if you can replace a draft to correct an error.
PolyWonk Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Don't worry! I know it sucks... I made a similar mistake (didn't change the header on one my resume for one school). It happens, and it's best not to worry. We could drive ourselves to insanity and back.
Wemayet Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Don't feel too bad. I actually (on a re-read) found that in my SOP for the school I most want to get into, I called their graduate school by the wrong name! Ugh...
