smartypants14 Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I have about a year left. My GPA went down this semester due to getting nothing but B's. I think it is a 3.3 now. What are my chances of bringing it up to a 3.7? or have i already done the damage? Im starting to study for the GRE and im thinking of taking extra classes to bring my campus/cumulative GPA up. I have experience working as a behavior therapist 2yrs+ and im looking into getting BCaBA certified. Im also a psychology major, where I have two research teams and i volunteered for the screening on my campus. Should i take some linguistics courses to make up for my LOW GPA? I have about three semesters left not counting summer classes. Im smart but lazy, so that is why my grades are so low and because i tend to get 88% and more B's than A's. I am hoping to apply to CSULB and CSUN. Any ways to study for the GRE to make up for my low GPA? Any help/ advice. would be great
sugarmilk Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I believe you asked this elsewhere on the forum. Please don't clog the boards with double posts. Only you can decide if your GPA will go up, by how much effort you put into your remaining semesters. If you are "smart but lazy" and you want better grades, I suggest you ditch the lazy part now. sugarmilk and NorcalSLP 1 1
midnight Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 (edited) smartypants, my advice for the GRE is PRACTICE AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. I really like PR's book Cracking the GRE for review and test tips along with Barron's book Six Practice Tests and ETS's Powerprep software for practice. And yes, you should stop being lazy and procrastinating so you can boost your GPA as much as possible. Establish relationships with professors and perform well while you still can so you will have good LORs. California's public SLP programs are extremely competitive; you may want to look at private schools and schools outside of the state as well. Edited December 25, 2012 by midnight streetlight
