Mecasickle Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 (edited) Hi, I'd like to know if any universities ask for a Bachelors of Science diploma as a prerequisite before enrolling, assuming that they have already accepted you as a grad student. I'm kind of worried, because formalizing a Bachelors where I'm from in southamerica takes like forever. Getting an official transcript with a translation took me around 2 months... just so you can have an idea. I wouldn't want to "get nullified from admission" just becuase my university takes for ever to process the diploma. Can anyone give my examples or personal cases where this has been aplicable? I had an american friend from Columbia University (New York) who started at CMU last year and he told me the only thing he was asked to eprsonally bring prior to enrollment was his final official transcript. Thanks, Edited December 27, 2012 by Mecasickle
mewtwo Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 My university asked us for an official transcript showing the completion of the programs listed on our respective applications (in my case, BS and MS). They had us bring these with us to the new student orientation. If your future university has a similar policy, I imagine this will give you plenty of time to get your final transcript appropriately translated before you need to turn it in.
Mecasickle Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) Alright mewtwo thanks! Has any international applicant/student have any experience on this matter? Edited December 28, 2012 by Mecasickle
