waitinginvain? Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Due to my age and lack of funds, I'm seriously thinking about not going back to school. But I've been assigned a TA- ship (I lead a discussion on my own) and was given a small scholarship for my talent (I'm in a dramatic writing program). I'm worried that I'll let down my mentor and the other TA who will have to take over my position. School resumes Jan. 7th! Any advice for how to handle this? Thanks so much.
emmm Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 Lack of funds is a legitimate reason to leave a program. How the program deals with your absence is really not your concern. You have to do what is best for you.
Vader Was Framed Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Look out for yourself, it is a rather large decision to leave the program. What is the risk that you leave, but are unable to find a job? Or do you already have a job lined up?
waitinginvain? Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 I'm self-employed but don't make a lot of money. I'm afraid that if I stay in the program, I'll still be self-employed but in debt too.
