Hey all,

I don't really want to go too much into my background because this is more for long-term planning. I wouldn't be able to get into Georgetown, GWU, or HKS as of right now but I'd like to start planning for it, to do it within the next 6-7 years. What is an example of an accepted applicant's background to these programs? What does one have to do to be accepted besides get a high GRE score and have (how many years?) relevant work experience?

I've seen this sitting here, and I really don't know how to respond, as I'm not applying for an MPP/MPA. (However, I did apply and was accepted to Georgetown's MPP program 2 years ago. I loved the school, but declined the offer.) As unsatisfying of an answer this may be, take a look at the current "hot" thread... "the AM I COMPETITIVE thread."

The first post is particularly informative. The OP applied to and was accepted GWU, American, SAIS and Mecca Princeton's WWS  ^_^

The original post covers the major points (School Requirements, GPA, GRE, Work Experience, Language, Quant skills, & SOP), and a little scrolling will reveal LOR tips too.
