How bad is "yeah" in a phone interview?

I just "yeah-ed" my way through a phone interview. Even as it was happening, I thought, "I need to stop saying Yeah". And still, it kept coming out of my mouth. Ugh. I was so nervous, I was acting ultra-casual. Anyone else have this experience? I did manage to form complete sentences and ask questions, the problem is that most of those sentences included phrases like "you know" and "whatever".Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

I find phone interviews to be awkward because it's hard to read the other person's cadence. It almost never goes smooth, especially on cell phones, I feel as though I am always stepping on the other persons words and vice versa. Don't sweat it, a lot of PI's like to talk, and talk, and talk...

I had the same problem with my "um's." And every time my mouth started to form that terrible "uh" sound I kept thinking "no, you idiot, shut up!" I still have no idea how it came across, but we'll find out soon!
