thank you for your information. May I know how your friend was informed, via phone or postal letter or Email? The admission decisions were released by the department or the Grad School?

I emailed the Grad School for the information about my application status, and they answered me like this:

It is the policy of the Graduate School to notify applicants of their admissions status by written correspondence only. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer requests for this information by phone or email. We expect that all admissions letters will be mailed to applicants by March 15, 2009.

hey guys,

sorry to bring the bad news, but i'm pretty sure they're done accepting people.

i'm an undergrad in the lit department here and one of my profs. mentioned having read a bunch of applications - she also said prospective students are coming soon to visit (which is why she's too busy too meet with me about my thesis.. great..)

i have no clue if they have a wait list though..

good luck to you all!

I suspect that Harvard notify the rejections via postal letters only, however, acceptances will be given by E-mail and formal postal letter as well.
