zingara Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 my friend got in - but i don't know if they're done sending out acceptances.. good luck!
Gryphon Posted March 7, 2009 Author Posted March 7, 2009 thank you for your information. May I know how your friend was informed, via phone or postal letter or Email? The admission decisions were released by the department or the Grad School? I emailed the Grad School for the information about my application status, and they answered me like this: It is the policy of the Graduate School to notify applicants of their admissions status by written correspondence only. Unfortunately, we are unable to answer requests for this information by phone or email. We expect that all admissions letters will be mailed to applicants by March 15, 2009.
zingara Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 i'm really not sure - but we are both here for undergrad, so i'm guessing she heard informally... good luck!
wackedoutpenguin Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 i saw one acceptance by e-mail listed on the results page yesterday (monday the 9th).....
ceciliacat Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Does it mean that those people who have not received any reply yet are actually out?
wackedoutpenguin Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 i don't know....it's weird only one person would post if they notified people, maybe that person had emailed the department?...
zingara Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 hey guys, sorry to bring the bad news, but i'm pretty sure they're done accepting people. i'm an undergrad in the lit department here and one of my profs. mentioned having read a bunch of applications - she also said prospective students are coming soon to visit (which is why she's too busy too meet with me about my thesis.. great..) i have no clue if they have a wait list though.. good luck to you all!
sarahrayyy Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Is this the same program as English PhD? Does anyone know if everyone has been accepted for that program?
lotf629 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Sarahrayyy, I think the short answer is yes. How sad for us. :|

Gryphon Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 I suspect that Harvard notify the rejections via postal letters only, however, acceptances will be given by E-mail and formal postal letter as well.
