BlackAlbino Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Thanks for doing this! I'm starting in theory and have been reading a lot of math lately. For one of your next posts, could you list a sequence of topics/textbooks for math that you would recommend for a beginning graduate student? There's a lot to look through, and it seems everyone I talk to has an opinion on what's worth reading and what isn't.
Eigen Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I'd recommend McQuarrie hands down. Mathematics for Scientists and Engineers. I'd you need to go beyond what he covers, you'll be at the point you know where to look.
DropTheBase Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Thanks bsnyder2, keep up the good work!
Faraday Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 This is a great blog bsnyder2, thanks for making it. I am in a group theory course right now and I look forward to reading your blog.
