smoazeni Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Hello everyone, I'm applying to a dual degree program to get my MSLIS (library school) and MA in history (1+1= academic librarian!). History was my minor in college, but my GPA in the dept was higher than my overall. Since I am applying to a history program, should I point out my minor GPA in addition to my major? It sounds a little tacky, but it's relevant since my minor is the subject I'm applying for. Thoughts? Thanks!
selecttext Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 If you have a first rate cumulative GPA then that is your ticket. Otherwise, state your minor's GPA only if it is exemplifies your dedication to a relevant discipline.
Angua Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 I would -- why not? I'd put it right in line with your minor, too. University of Faketopia at Fakeville -- Aug 2008 - May 2012 B.A., Basketweaving - GPA: 3.02 Minor in History - GPA: 3.79 Or whatever.
Usmivka Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 You'll want to highlight it either in the CV or your statement of purpose. But if the difference is only 0.1 or 0.2, it is tacky, as you suggested.
