Tycon69 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Hi Mohammed First of all this isn't really the correct section for such a question. This subforum is for questions about deciding where to go once accepted. I am in a similar situation to you. I am a US Domestic applicant to medicinal chemistry / pharmaceutical sciences programs. I have a 3.33 GPA and 311 GRE. I have not taken the chemistry subject GRE. I have nearly 2 years of research experience (Organic synthesis with medicinal applications) including a summer research project at one of my top three schools. I have heard from my top three, but none of my bottom three schools. The University of Georgia, University of Mississippi, and University of Florida have all contacted me. Basically, all three told me they were very interested in my application, that they enjoyed my statement of purpose, and that they would like me to get all of my letters of recommendation in soon. I have had trouble both with professors procrastinating past deadlines and with the automated emails sent by departments about these letters. One of the schools even had a newly hired professor contact me with papers to read and discuss. No schools have reached an admissions decision for me. While I have heard domestic students are given a slightly higher priority than foreign applications, I still believe that you have a good chance of getting in somewhere. I was considering applying to purdue myself, but the distance from home and the December 1st deadline dissuaded me. Good luck with your applications. I have personally checked my email about 30 times a day for the past few weeks hoping to hear something. I will probably reply to this thread again when I finally hear a decision. Again, Good Luck.
