Hi,

I wanted to know about the reputation and quality of the program(M.S in automotive engineering) at Clemson Univ. I received admit for the Fall 2013 program last week.

I am waiting for decisions from other schools as well but in the worst case that this is my only admit is it worth pursuing masters program from the university?...

My profile

UG: Engineering from Univ of Mumbai, India (batch 2010)

2 years work ex in consulting firm(one of the big four) 2010 -2012

(current)1 year work ex in India's largest automotive organization at their research center. 2012 - present

I want to work in the field of vehicle dynamics & control. Will the MS program at Clemson help me and post graduate studies are their jobs for international candidates. Also how expensive is the univ and town? Can I get a RA/TA or a job to help me with the expenses.

Thanks.

Hello,

I was admitted to ME of Clemson too. I think Auto in Clemson is more competitive if you want to hunt for jobs after graduation. Although in ranking Clemson seems not so satisfactory, we can see several big research centers there which are supported by other famous companies like BMW. Also, the total expense in Clemson is surely low. I would be a wonderful choice for you, especially in your areas, I guess.

Hope it would help.

Hi,

Can someone please give me a bit more information regarding the Automotive Engineering program.

I have read that the Auto dept is not within the university campus but is a separate campus located 40 miles away. Will this cause any problems. I was not too thrilled to know this as it limits ones interaction to limited students and faculty. What if I want to take up some courses from another department?

Thanks.
