WarAGle Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 So I'm in my second semester finishing up my proposal. I'm a masters student so I've never done anything like this before. My advisor wanted it done by Thanksgiving which wasn't going to happen. I never got any guidance from her, and I sent her stuff asking if I'm on the right track and she never responded. This semester she handed me a notice that if it isn't approved by May 3rd I'm out. Anyway, I'm worried I made the worst mistake of my life and I will receive "less than glowing" recommendations from her when I graduate which will keepn me from being employed. For the record if she can talk to me about specifics I will have my proposal done before the end of the month.
uromastyx Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I would ask your advisor if she'd be willing to write a letter. Typically, they will find a way to say no if they can't write a decent one.
Miro Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 set up an hour meeting with her to just talk about your proposal. That way she will give you feed back and know that your are serious. some people are so busy that they keep putting things off for later. also ask her in person is she is willing/can write you a strong letter of rec. if not start finding other people
