Is Arabic an important language to be studied or spread in the United States?

Is it importatnt to the national securtiy of the United States?

Is it important for being the language of more than two hundred millions around the world?

Is the States interest in the language coming out from the fact that the number of those who speak the language is risisng in America?

Your thoughts and points of view :?: :!:

1. i'm not sure how to answer this question.

2. yes

3. yes

4. no. It is coming out of the interest of national security issues. The Middle East is an area of interest to the US; therefore, arabic speakers are in demand.

I'm not sure your motivations for taking the language, but it is a lot of work. You not only need to go through the modern standard arabic courses, but you would need to pick a dialect to specialize in...it's not like learning french or spanish. If you are interested in studying critical languages, there are easier languages on the list to crack than arabic.
