tedjj Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Which school would you choose for computer vision: 1. Boston University 2. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 3. University of Rochester All with full funding.
aries Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 UNC-CH if you have a chance to work with Marc Pollefeys.
tedjj Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Marc Pollefeys is at ETH Zurich now - he still has 25% funding at UNC but I don't think he is taking any students here.
aries Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Boston University has a quite strong computer vision group: http://www.cs.bu.edu/groups/ivc/. I am not aware of anyone from the CS dept, Rochester who is well-known in computer vision. UNC may still be your best choice given the ranking (20th in CS ranking, USNews 2009). You may want to contact Svetlana Lazebnik (student of Jean Ponce from UIUC) there.
