candycrava Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) So I have been wait listed to my top program. Is there anything I can do to help my chances? Should I respond back to the person who wrote the email about me being on the wait list? Is it appropriate to ask how high on the wait list I am? Here is what was emailed to me: Thanks so much for taking the time to interview with our program. We were very impressed with your credentials and background. Unfortunately, we had such a large number of highly qualified applicants that we had to make very difficult decisions. We have placed you on our waiting list for admission. In most years, we are able to offer most students on the waiting list admission, as not all students who are offered admission initially accept. I will be in touch as soon as possible to provide an update. Please let me know if you accept an offer elsewhere so we can give guidance to others who are waiting for admission. Have a great weekend and I'll be in touch soon. What do you guys think? Edited February 23, 2013 by candycrava
monkeytreerocketship Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 Yes, you should definitely respond. It sounds like there is still a good chance you will be admitted. Let them know that you are still very interested in the program and are looking forward to hearing from them soon.
