  1. So, I'm waitlisted to my top program. When I received the email, I pretty much right away followed up with an email expressing my interest in the program and that if I was accepted into the program, I would accept the offer. That was 4 weeks ago. I'm guessing I won't hear anything until mid-late April. Do you think I need/should contact the program director again? The email I received didn't explicitly say not to contact her. I just don't want to annoy her. Should I wait until after the April 15 deadline to follow up again?
  2. This is the email I received notifying me I was waitlisted to my top school: Thanks so much for taking the time to interview with our program. We were very impressed with your credentials and background. Unfortunately, we had such a large number of highly qualified applicants that we had to make very difficult decisions. We have placed you on our waiting list for admission. In most years, we are able to offer most students on the waiting list admission, as not all students who are offered admission initially accept. I will be in touch as soon as possible to provide an update. Please let me know if you accept an offer elsewhere so we can give guidance to others who are waiting for admission. Uggggh. The waiting is killing me. I followed up with a nice "yes please keep me on the waitlist, I will accept if admitted" email. I hope I find out sooner rather than later if I'm in or not. And I hope I'm in!!!
  3. So I have been wait listed to my top program. Is there anything I can do to help my chances? Should I respond back to the person who wrote the email about me being on the wait list? Is it appropriate to ask how high on the wait list I am? Here is what was emailed to me: Thanks so much for taking the time to interview with our program. Have a great weekend and I'll be in touch soon. What do you guys think?
  4. I am really concerned about this. On MWF, I have a class where I'm not allowed to miss more than 3 classes. On T,R I have a class where i cannot miss more than 2 classes. I only have a possibility of 3 interviews to go to, but am still very concerned. Any advice?
  5. Well, actually I did some digging and it turns out I was rejected. Thanks though!
  6. One of the programs I'm applying to is the Ed.S. school psychology program at Lehigh. I learned via this website that Lehigh already sent out interview invites for Ph.D. applicants. Since I'm an Ed.S. applicant, do you think I should be concerned?
  7. So has anyone gotten interview invites yet? I received one so far, from Rider.
  8. Hi all! So I discovered that i did something wrong regarding my already submitted applications. I know it's something really tiny and is probably not a problem at all, but i wanted to run it by you guys and see what you think, for reassurance purposes. After this semester, my GPA became 3.87. In the applications themselves, as well as on transcripts, that was what my GPA was put down as. However, in my resume I forgot to update my GPA to reflect my fall semester grades. Before this semester (aka what GPA my resume has), my GPA WAS 3.85. It's a difference of 2/100 of a point. Will that mixmatch between what's on my application/transcripts and what I put in my resume reflect on me negatively? Or am I worrying for nothing? Thank you!
  9. How flexible are grad admission with letters of rec being submitted by the deadline. As long as your actual app is in, is that ok? I mean, if the school received the letters of rec a few weeks late, would that be ok?
  10. I agree. For school psych, getting your Ph.D. isn't really even necessary. I'm not even sure if it's worth it--> your salary won't increase that much plus all of the time used to finish your Ph.D., you could have been working and making money. School psychologists are in high demand right now and if you have your masters+, you should have no problem finding a job. Personally, I'm applying to masters+ programs in school psych for the upcoming year.
  11. Yes, I'm currently in Delaware looking to go to a school within a relatively short distance. Are you on the east coast as well?
  12. Hi everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for us school psychology applicants! Where is everyone applying? I am applying for an Ed.S. to University of Delaware, Towson, Rider, Millersville, and Lehigh.
  13. Is asking for someone to write a letter of rec 3 months before a deadline too early? Or is it ok?
  14. There's a professor that I think may write me a letter, but I have not seen him in over a year. Should I ask him to review my SOP before asking him to write a letter of rec, so that we get reacquainted first, or should I just go out and ask him?
