Hello folks,

I was wondering about how MUSC is perceived in the biostat academic community? I know they are not a top 10 program, but how do they compare with other schools (that arent top 10) like Boston, Pittsburgh, Iowa, and/or Yale (I assumed is higher because of name brand, even though biostat department isn't that well known)? Would a Biostat PhD from MUSC still be respected among the academic community?

I don't hear of them much on these forums and assume they have a relatively small department. Also, being a Medical school, I'm guessing that they are probably even more applied than other biostat departments...

Right now I'm interested in a career in industry (Clinical Trials), though the possibility for an academic career is becoming more intriguing.

Thanks for any help! This is just one of the many schools I'm considering, but I'm trying to get as much info as possible!
