Summit_Bid Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I'm totally in on joining the support group. This too will by my third year applying to Ph.D. programs! Also, I'm interested in getting an professional admissions consultant this time around. Anyone have experiences or thought on this? I'm wondering if it's worth the hefty price?
lotf629 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Don't do it, noreeldancer. People who work as consultants are usually really good at getting students in to law school, med school, etc., but won't know much about Ph.D. programs in the humanities and how they're different from preprofessional programs. Focus on getting advice here and from your faculty advisors: that's what I think, anyway.
Minnesotan Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Yeah. Being a pest is free. Get everyone and their dog to evaluate your SoP, and you should be fine.
