little blue burry Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 I just looked at the addmission results survey, Purdue, NCSU, TAMU, NCU, Colorado, Cornell, Brwon....there are people get admitted everywhere, even from waitlist!!! Does that mean that I get rejected? I haven't heard back from any of them yet! SO anxious!!!!!!!!
luke8ball Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Where did you see that people had been accepted to NCSU? For what program?
Shostakovich Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Where did you see that people had been accepted to NCSU? For what program? I've talked to multiple people who were considering offers from their PhD program in Stats (applied).
luke8ball Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Oh ok. I applied to the mathematics and have yet to hear anything.
JZappa Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Most schools (UNC Stats does this) don't send out rejections until they have filled all their spots. In a sense you're on a very long waitlist.
luke8ball Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 I applied to a Master's program, so I was hoping to hear back rather quickly!
Yo'all TC Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Schools like TAMU dont send out rejections before May. I heard Purdue takes a long time as well.
luke8ball Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Is it wrong to email the department and ask if you're on a waitlist?
JZappa Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Luke8ball... I wouldn't email and specifically ask if you are on the waitlist but it is perfectly acceptable to ask what your status is at this point. Just be polite and ask them if they can update you on your status or when you should expect to hear something from them and you should be just fine.
