josh4511 Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 I am getting ready to graduate from Indiana University with an honors degree in Sociology and am considering which Sociology departments to apply to for social psychology. My GRE scores were verbal 160, quantitative 149, and analytical writing 5. I am planning to retake it in May to try and bump up my quantitative score after I graduate. I am looking at Cornell, Emory, U. Maryland, U. Georgia, Duke and U. South Carolina. I am looking mostly at the East Coast because my partner is accepted at U. Delaware. I'm mostly sending out feelers to see if anyone on the forum is in any of those departments and can let me know what the admissions process is like, funding, the community, etc.
soc_guy_2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Well, if I were you I would start with your own university. Indiana is a great Social Psych. program, and they have several faculty members who went to Cornell. They'll be able to help you feel things out. I guess you're taking a year off?
