Hello!

I've applied to Georgetown's CCT program, among a few other Master's and PhD programs, and I noticed on the results postings that a few people received notifications of admission yesterday, March 4. I of course freaked out a bit that I hadn't received notification yet, but it appears that in past years people have received their emails (both acceptances and rejections) on a rolling basis over the course of a few days. I'm wondering if past admitted students to the program have been in my boat - waiting to hear when others have heard - and ultimately been accepted. Do they send out their notification emails in waves, as they get through batches of applications, or is a later email indicative of a rejection or no funding offer? I applied to the first round of deadlines (January 15) for scholarship consideration... does the fact that I haven't been notified yet suggest that I won't receive funding or will be rejected completely?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can share, congrats to those who have been admitted, and good luck to all who are applying!

Ok, I just got the answer to my own question. For those interested, I received an email with my acceptance today, so they do appear to be sending out decisions on a rolling basis. No word on funding yet, and an official acceptance from the Graduate School will be coming at a later date. Good luck to all!

I got in touch with the adcom, and was told scholarships would only be finalized in a couple of weeks. Does anybody know if those in the running would have been notified already, or whether they plan on dumping the info in one go later on?

I received a letter from CCT that they were considering me as a scholarship finalist. But no promise and the final result will come on March 21th.

Irissheng: A postal letter? Or email? If postal, I can hold out hope for a bit longer. But I guess it may be better to write it off. Bummer.

An email from the director of admission, Shane Hoon.

Hey guys,

I've been accepted to the CCT program, but due to some form bungling on my part, I won't be getting my financial aid letter for about a week or so. For everyone who DIDN'T get one of the scholarships, what sort of package were you offered? Is it pretty much just bunches of loans? Just trying to get an idea of what I can expect.

Thanks!
