I have been accepted to the English PhD program at FSU. Still waiting to hear back from a few other schools, so I have not made a final decision at this point. I am  attending an Open House at FSU in the next few weeks, so I suppose some of my questions will be answered then, but what is the "climate" of the department there?

While I am super enthused about the Textual Technologies concentration, the department seems to be weighted heavily on the side of Early Modern studies and Creative Writing. I, on the other hand, am a Modernist studies person, and my research is primarily in periodical studies and print culture. So I am a little nervous that I won't find a "niche" there.

If any of you that are there or know anything about the department second hand, I would so appreciate the break down, as it were.

Hiya,

Glad to hear someone else is considering FSU. I'd be interested to hear an answer to this question as well.
