Physics PHD - University of Toronto

Hello, guys.

 

I am new to the forum, but I have been reading some posts and following the results on the main page for a few weeks. I applied for Physics PHD in seven universities, four american and three canadian.

 

After being rejected by all the american universities I applied to, I was hopeless, but then I received a e-mail from University of Toronto yesterday (Monday).

 

It reads:

"Our Admissions Committee has reviewed for your application for graduate 

studies in Physics at the University of Toronto and would be prepared to 
offer you admission to our PhD program.

Could you please email me a copy of your TOEFL score?"

 

Now I am confused. Do you think this means they will offer me admission? At first, I was happy, but the e-mail is somewhat cryptic. It is not in the usual format "We are please to tell you that...." On the other hand, it would be too evil to do such a thing: "we would be prepared to offer you admission... but we will not!". Besides, I don't understand why they are asking for a copy of my TOEFL score. I sent my official scores through ETS and, although something could have happened and they could have not received them, the fact that they simply asked for a copy of my TOEFL score suggests they are not looking for the official score.

 

In any case, I sent a pdf file I generated from the ETS TOEFL webpage and asked them if that e-mail meant admission.

They didn't answer me yet and now I am going crazy, with my hope in the skies again...

 

So what do you think, guys?
