Syracuse University's master in media studies?

It's kinda mysterious... as this is the program with the least mentioning on its website... How does it go exactly? 

I received an admission letter yesterday via email... the director seems passionate! 

 

Does anyone here know how is the education quality and possible placement of this program? Is it strictly academic? 

 

Plus.. I'm an international student... am wondering if Syracuse is a nice place to stay? I can try to bear the freezing weather, but My friends keep telling me upper New York is a SKETCHY place... Is it true???? (That's the word they use... confused)

Ha, after you survived the application process and the wait you'll fall on your knees for any acception...

And location should always be considered as a factor. If you cannot be happy in the place you live, your school work will suffer. Some people care more, some less. However, do not dismiss it too easily as it should be given some thought.
