Hey all! For whatever reason I heard back mid feb but haven't gotten a thing about funding! Wishing you all happy acceptances shortly-- and be sure to post if you hear anything!

While we're waiting...I noticed on the website (I don't know why I looked, now I'm even more impatient) that applicants are given an initial status of "admit" or "deny" and that a wait-list is created after initial decisions are made.  I took this to mean that one may initially be denied admission and then later placed on a waiting list?  What do you guys think?

Hopefully we'll all just get "admit" status and it won't matter! :)

Here's the link in case anyone hasn't seen it:

Haha, I got that the week before their spring break (when they originally said they would notify).  The title was like "UT Austin Student Notification" or something, right?  I had a meltdown, of course.  Hopefully they will let us know tomorrow!

I read that too... I think it means that people who are in or denied first round will have admit or deny listed on the status, and then there will also be some people wait-listed, but it will be a while (read: after first round admits make decisions) before the wait-list is accessed.  I think you would find out wait-list from the get-go if that's where you end up.  Eeeek!  I'm getting nervous!

I'm dying to know! I spent 10 years of my childhood in Texas and would be thrilled to be a longhorn! I'm thinking they are going to wait until Friday just because they can :( Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!

I hope they let us know today! Good Luck everyone!! While we are waiting, are any of you UT undergrads? I've been to the university before and have done my research on the program. However, if someone could give me a students perspective of the program that would be so helpful! Specifically Im curious about the atmosphere of the program (welcoming, approachable, etc) and your overall experience with professors, coursework, and opportunities given! ...now back to refreshing my email...

Yes I think they will be today!!  I am guessing it took them a long time this year because they probably had an increase in applicants.  Kind of freaks me out..... can't wait to hear!

I went to UT for undergrad, but I was a Linguistics major.   I can't speak for the program much personally, but I did love UT in general!

Brace yourselves.  I'm an undergrad there, and I'm hearing whispers of Monday now.  Nothing confirmed.

OMG!  Have you heard anything about how many applicants yet?!  They must have gotten a ton if they are still not done yet, right?!

I HAVE to get onto this school. If not I have to move back to Nebraska and go to University of Nebraska. This city is too awesome, and Nebraska is waaaaayyyy too cold. I'm beyond freaking out.

The person I heard it from got that info from a professor, but no word on the number of applicants.  Again, it really is hearsay as far as I'm concerned, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
