Is anyone else still waiting for the official email from the graduate division with the link to the statement of intent to register?

I got my letter from the division chair two weeks ago (dated three weeks ago) and while I have been assured by people in both the social welfare office and the grad division office that it's all formalities, I still can't help feeling anxious. I don't really feel that I have formally, officially been accepted :/

I'm in the same boat. I want to know about my financial aid package. It's definitely frustrating. I have the letter in a frame already, so they have no choice but to let me in come September!!

I too am waiting for the formal email from UCLA's grad division.  My letter was dated 2/24, received 3/4, I spoke with the admin officer who also assured me that I have been accepted and that they are using a new "system" this year which is delaying the whole process and that I should be getting that email soon.

I stopped feeling nervous about being "formally" accepted after speaking with the admin officer...but even after having that conversation I have too admit that I still feel a little anxious about not being officially accepted just like you.  I suppose it's still just a matter of time (another week maybe) before we all get the SIR email.

I think in due time we'll all get the email and we can have a good chuckle about it when we meet at orientation.

I figured everything out this morning actually! Here I was this entire time waiting on an email from the graduate division with all the information I need actually within the email. But what you need to do is look out for an email from this contact UCLA_Application_Decision@gdnet.ucla.edu that says:

A faculty committee at UCLA has made a decision on your application for

Social Welfare for Fall 2013.

If you have not already done so, please use the following link, click

Decision Status and log in to view the decision:

(link here)

Click that link, enter your email address, click on the application term (Fall 2013) and it will prompt you to enter the password you created for your application. I thought this whole time because it said my application was still submitted that there was no point in checking it. But when I entered my password it actually took me to the letter from the grad division dean with the directions for the SIR and SLR!

Such a strange system. But I guess that's how they're doing it. I just finished submitting everything and talked to Lance Fooks. He said once a student submits those forms, it's all official and just a matter of waiting on more details for orientation etc. Oh and no tuition deposit!!

Please let me know if this works for you both! It should be the way for you to access your official letter if you did receive an email like the one I described. I feel so ridiculous knowing that email was sitting in my inbox for a week and I didn't know what to do with it because it honestly just looked like a link back to my actual application.

Thanks for that heads up, unfortunately to this date I still have not received that email you're talking about.  I'm sure it will arrive soon enough, hopefully before 4/1 which is my deadline to let CSU-DH know whether or not I'll be attending their program!

I hope everything works out for you! They're definitely in a pretty extensive process right now with everything and like you said it's this new system.

The link to check your application that the email sends is actually available on the UCLA website for any applicant. It might be worth checking yourself even if you haven't gotten the email yet. For all we know, it could be that it's all there and the system just takes forever to update and send emails out to prompt people to check.

I, too, was accepted into UCLA's program - I received the email from Lance Fooks and a letter from the Dept. I have yet to receive an email from UCLA_Application_Decision@gdnet.ucla.edu and I just checked out my application status through the provided link (thanks, nhl!) and it says that no decision has been made. Not that this is a good thing, but it's nice to know that it's not just my application they're lagging on processing. Perhaps it's an alphabetical thang (my last name starts with "R") paired with the fact that I submitted prior to the regular (Jan) deadline? Who knows.

Hi RM5, think we talked about this on another forum maybe the Cal MSW accepted one?

Anyway, I'll keep you posted as to when I receive the email with the link from UCLA_Application (still no sign of it as of now and I too checked the decision status login and got the same response as you "To date no decision has been made etc etc).

We can be stressed (probably for nothing) together until we both get the official acceptance from UCLA...I'm assuming you are going to accept?  I spoke with Lance and told him verbally I plan to attend UCLA.

My last name starts with a "P" and I submitted my application the day it was due 1/15/13, my guess is they are sending out the emails based on when applications were submitted maybe which means I'll be one of the last ones to get it haha!

Hey NHL, may I ask when did you submit your UCLA app and the first letter of your last name?  thanks!

Posted

I submitted around Thanksgiving and ordered my transcripts right after Thanksgiving break, but I never got to find out if it was actually all processed by the first deadline, which I believe was December 15th. My last name starts with L so it really could be the alphabetical thing too.

I'm sure you all will have to get that email before April 15th for sure so hang tight!! And the SLR asks all sorts of questions like the original registration month/year of your vehicle as well as opening month/year of any checkings/savings accounts among other things so having that information in handy will definitely save you a little bit of time so you can submit it asap and call it official.

Hey RM5, somuchintheair and any other prospective UCLA MSW students...

I still have not received the formal email from UCLA's graduate division, I'm assuming it's just taking a long time to get through all the applications and what not.  But it's been over 3 weeks since I received my letter from the department which was dated 2/24...

Anyway, probably just being paranoid for no good reason although I have until 4/1 to inform another program I'm turning them down so hopefully will get the UCLA grad email before then.

I did get Lance Fooks' recent email about welcome day and other info which is a good sign, did you all get that one too?

Hi insearchofmsw, I was accepted and still haven't received this letter either. I called Lance Fooks on Tuesday, I think, to ask about this and he said that it's just taking a lot of time to get the letters out. Something about processing our transcripts. But he basically told me not to worry and that I have indeed been accepted. Hopefully that helps ease your worries! But if it would give you peace of mind, you can always call just to be sure.
