Ok, I'm ripping my hair out over this one.

I don't know which to attend.

Newhouse definitely has the better program as far as preparing you for the changing world of journalism goes. I really think it is a much better program than nyu.

But nyu is in nyc...and definitely is better for getting internships and making connections. Also, its mad expensive.

So...which one is better in the long run? A better program or better location that can get you more real world experience?

Also, its been my dream to live in NYC my entire life. There is no place I'd rather be.

PLEASE HELPP

I'm literally having the exact same dilemma. I got into NYU for writing and 'Cuse for Broadcast journalism. So really I have to just decide what I want to do with my life because NYU's writing I feel is stronger. However, I feel like Syracuse's broadcast program is better.

I don't know much about the Syracuse program, but NYU does teach you about the changing world of journalism too.  They have weekend workshops that deal with HTML and other web-based skills, classes solely focused on social media, & much more.

Also, all of the professors are either staff writers at major publications or have worked for them before. They are major. NYU is definitely top notch with its connections to the most renowned journalism outlets. I sat in on a class recently and the professor writes for Vanity Fair, used to write for the NY Times, & there was a guest speaker who is a big time staff writer @ the New Yorker. !!
