daydreamer254 Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Yesterday I called my prospective grad school department about admissions decisions and she told me that I won't receive a decision until about a month or so. Is that normal?
acdelco Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 are you wait-listed? if so yes. maybe also they have an unoffical wait-list so are holding your application. Otherwise a I couldn't imagine them not making a decision until April--assuming it had a Dec/Jan application deadline.
selecttext Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 it depends on the university and program. if you have competing offers that you are considering, you should inform them of this.
daydreamer254 Posted March 20, 2013 Author Posted March 20, 2013 The secretary told me that the department was currently reviewing my application, and the priority deadline was Nov. 30...I sent in my application in October. She didn't mention a wait list.
acdelco Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 That doesn't seem like a usual deadline but all schools and programs are different. If they are reviewing your application there isn't much to do but to wait. If you have an acceptance to consider and a decision deadline you may want to ask that school for an extension and also let this school know you have an offer to see if they can move quicker, good luck
Rumcajs Posted March 20, 2013 Posted March 20, 2013 Ottawa U's GSPIA wont give out admission offers until early April. So it does happen but it is a bit too late for some people who need to accept offers earlier. daydreamer254 1
