yogabear13 Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Hi, I'm looking at an Msc at LSE in the Fall, and I'm curious if anyone can speak to job opportunities out of LSE currently. I understand LSE has heavy recruiting starting as early as September, but I'm wondering if this is still the case even after the financial crisis, etc. I'm interested in consulting or finance opportunities. Any insight would be great- thanks!
Guest hopefulfool Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 All of my friends who did accounting, finance, and/or anything related to economics at LSE currently have jobs. Competition is tough however, so you need to start applying and looking for jobs immediately!
yogabear13 Posted April 1, 2013 Author Posted April 1, 2013 Anything more on Political Science/ IR related programs? Thanks.
Guest hopefulfool Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 PoliSci/IR - Those who stayed in London or moved to the NYC area either have jobs in consulting or are interviewing at consulting firms, but still do not have jobs. Financial jobs may be a bit of stretch in this job market. However, this is from the 8-12 people that I keep in touch with who did PolicSci/IR stuff.
yogabear13 Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 That's really helpful, thanks. Do you think most that already found consulting jobs already had work experience or worked at internships while they were studying? Thanks, really appreciate it!
Guest hopefulfool Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I think most had job/internship experience, but not at places that consulting firms would actually care about.
