Kayla123 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 My acceptance into Hopkins was in the MHS Environmental Health program. Dream school, big time. I'd love to go there. But the downside is that I have absolutely no idea how useful an MHS actually is. The site says it mostly sets you up for a PhD, and not "specifically" for employment... but that plenty of students have gone on to be employed both at NGO's and government organizations. All my other acceptances are MPH programs. Anyone have any thoughts? Is an MHS pretty similar to an MPH, or are they entirely different?
phmhjh85 Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=644314 I think this link pretty much sums up the comparison between most of public health degrees And you will have more luck posing further inquiries on sdn rather than tgc Good luck I think all the programs you were accepted to are amazing opportunities , however I am biased when it comes to Hopkins and it appears that the general consensus is that the difference between degrees in Hopkins is less demarkated than other places

phmhjh85 Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 Sorry Nostalgia! I just saw this. thanks so much for such a useful link! which program are you going for? have you decided? You are most welcome . congrats on the UNC's acceptance . you restored my faith that I might hear from them after all. I really cannot make my mind yet. However, after talkìng to my lovely advisor and a couple students who had a similar situation, I am leaning towards MHS. Yet it doesn't really matter since I am yet to hear from Fulbright if they are ok with Hopkins or not!
