Paa_Ratt Posted March 31, 2013 Share Posted March 31, 2013 Hi, I have been admitted to the PhD in Polymer Sci & Engg program at UMass Amherst and PhD in Material Sci & Engg program at Georgia Tech. I would appreciate any pointers about how should I choose between the two programs, both ranked well in respective fields. Most of my research is in the area of synthesis and characterization of polymers but I would like to explore upcoming fields as I work towards my PhD. Thanks! free_radical Posted March 31, 2013 Share Posted March 31, 2013 Did you visit either of the schools? If they are both well-ranked, then you should probably choose the place you'll be happiest living. Regarding rankings though, I believe Georgia Tech is consistently ranked in the Top 10 programs for Materials Science and Engineering, but not UMass Amherst.
