finding housing from elsewhere

Hey guys,

 

How are you finding housing from somewhere else?  I'm in another country and looking at housing... any recommendations?

Can you contact current students? The students in the program I will be attending have been very helpful recommending rental companies and parts of town. I have a different problem -- I have to sell my house -- so I have no idea what month I will need my rental to start.

There are some good suggestions in this recent thread:  A few people suggested finding a realtor, which I never considered for rentals.

Thanks for the link!  Sorry, I've been operating largely from my phone of late and searching is more difficult.
