Cooleggyh Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 They have a a center for non-commutative geometry and operator algebra, which seems to have some top people. But other than that, it seems vandy math is not so well-known. Should I go there?
bijew Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 If you are afraid of the low ranking of Vanderbilt and if you would like to do operator algebras, you may consider UIUC. Definitely it is much more well-known and its operator algebras should be good enough (and if you regret and don't want to do operator theory one or two years later, you are still able to change to other field in UIUC but not in Vanderbilt).
