madil90 Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 I just accepted a phd offer in the computer science department. I am from pakistan and have no idea what to do. There doesn't seem to be any pakistanis in my department. I have heard things like davis is boring and it's very expensive there. Some people say it's very beautiful. I'm especially worried about the stipend. How much are u getting? I'm getting 1500 per month but i don't know if that would be enough to cover all expenses. I'm just glad i found someone to talk to. Definitely not boring; there are always things to do. Bring allergy medicine--having an arboretum with many plant/flora species comes with a price (for pollen allergy sufferers)!
