work experience?

Ideally,what kind of work experience do the grad schools look at?i have a  pg diploma in broadcast journalism &  have interned at NDTV( english tv news channel,new delhi) for 7 months.Am looking for a job or another internship right now but will this work experience do?

Any writing or internship experience in journalism is fine. As an undergrad and even right now I worked as a staff writer for publications, even though most were volunteer (that counts as well). You don't need to be in a paid position in order for it to count as work experience. Anything relevant to the field is going to boost your application.
