Monochrome Spring Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I am taking a practicum course in restoration ecology and we will be learning field techniques that will be very useful in graduate school. How do I add that to my CV? It's more of an education item, not research, but I don't want to clutter the education section with practicum courses. Should I create a new section that is for skills? Examples of CVs with similar requirements would be great, if possible. Thank you!
screencheck Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I participated in an archaeological field school where I learned lots of relevant skills to my field. I put this under academic experience (as it was a course that i received academic credit for) at the advisement of a graduate student in my department . However, I don't see how a skills section could hurt, especially if you have quite a few. Monochrome Spring 1
fuzzylogician Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I have a heading "Other Academic Experience" underneath "Education" for summer schools and language programs. I think your course could fit in a similar section. I imagine a "Skills" section should be more about what you know and less about how you came to know it, so it may not be a good choice for listing the course. Monochrome Spring 1
