therecard Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 I'm having difficulty making a decision between San Jose State MA in Counseling/Student Personnel with the option for PPS Credential OR Cal Poly SLO MA in Counseling in Higher Education. Cal Poly's program specializes in higher ed/ student affairs and students are part of a cohort. San Jose's program isn't cohort based but offers the PPS Credential in addition to the Masters. Cal Poly is on the quarter system, SJSU is on semester system. My goal is to be a community college counselor and possibly at the university level. At this point I am pretty sure I do not want to get into k-12 counseling but it would be ideal to pursue the PPS credential as a back-up. At the same time if k-12 isn't my primary goal, it may be a waste of time to pursue the credential Anyone have any thoughts and/or suggestions? Please?!
