JulieHoch5 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a while now but I'm hoping you can provide me with some advice. I've gotten into a bunch of schools for MPA but the only one to offer me any merit aid was the School of Government at UNC. They weren't necessarily my first choice, but the offer they made is really too good to turn down. Other than that they are highly ranked for City Management (which is what I am interested in) I don't really know much about the school so anything you can offer would be appropriated. Thanks a bunch and good luck everyone!
East_of_Eden Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I went to UNC for undergrad, but I didn't apply to their MPA program. The program itself is supposed to be held in relatively high regard and the smaller class size should allow you to get great individualized attention. If they've given you a great aid package, be psyched; you'll love it in Chapel Hill. If you PM me, I can answer any questions you have about the university, town, culture and surrounding area. Go Heels!
NewGradStudent Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I'm in the same situation. Got an awesome package from Chapel Hill that's impossible to turn down. I think, while it might not be your first choice, its a solid program. I'm going to take their offer and look forward to starting in the fall.
salman33 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I got accepted to UNC as well. UNC is my top choice at the moment, unless NYU comes through. I visited the school last year and fell in love. Chapel HIll is a great place to live.
