james2014 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Hi guys. I took my GRE today and got unofficial scores of 166 (93rd percentile) on Quantitative and 159 (81st percentile) on Verbal. I plan to apply to Ph.D. programs in Chemistry this upcoming cycle, and want to know if my scores are considered good/competitive for such a program. I am in an honors program at a state university, have a 3.71 GPA, good leadership and a lot of research experience (albeit in mainly molecular biology research) including Amgen scholars. I also plan to take the Chemistry subject GRE. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
DropTheBase Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 For a chemistry PhD those scores are plenty competitive. Make sure you have some good letters of recommendation. Good luck! DTB
james2014 Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Thanks, DTB. I am hoping to attend one of the more higher-ranked institutions. I hope this isn't too low for that...
