james2014
Hi guys. I took my GRE today and got unofficial scores of 166 (93rd percentile) on Quantitative and 159 (81st percentile) on Verbal. I plan to apply to Ph.D. programs in Chemistry this upcoming cycle, and want to know if my scores are considered good/competitive for such a program. I am in an honors program at a state university, have a 3.71 GPA, good leadership and a lot of research experience (albeit in mainly molecular biology research) including Amgen scholars. I also plan to take the Chemistry subject GRE. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
DropTheBase
For a chemistry PhD those scores are plenty competitive. Make sure you have some good letters of recommendation. Good luck! DTB
james2014
Thanks, DTB. I am hoping to attend one of the more higher-ranked institutions. I hope this isn't too low for that...
