I'm going to be applying to graduate programs this fall/winter, specifically teaching residency programs. I've found three programs I'm very interested in, but they're all very different.

One is the Boston Teacher Residency program to teach in Boston public schools. This is a 4-year commitment to teach in high-need urban schools and which would earn me an M.Ed. from UMass Boston.

The next one is the Penn Residency Masters in Teaching to teach in private boarding schools. This is a 2-year teaching fellowship with one of several boarding schools in New England, and would result in a M.S.Ed. from UPenn GSE.

The last option is the MATCH Teacher Residency program to teach in charter schools. This is a 2-year program which would earn me a Masters Degree in Effective Teaching (which I'm not positive on what that even means) from the Sposato GSE (which I'm also unsure about).

I know these residency programs are relatively new, but I'm wondering if anyone on here is currently enrolled in any of these programs and could give any advice (difficulty of getting in, what the teaching environment is like, strength of the graduate degree). Also, I'd really appreciate any advice about making the decision to commit to teaching in public/private/charter school systems.

Thanks in advance!
